    Who can apply: This is a non-consecutive Master’s programme, i.e., it is open for students with undergraduate degree in diverse areas. 
    Application process: Apply online with the following documents: University/B.A. degree with 210 ECTS; if you have only 180 ECTS, you can earn the required extra credits in the Pre-semester ; TOEFL (at least 72 out of 120) or IELTS (at least 6.0 out of 9) or equivalent; Curriculum Vitae, letter of recommendation by your lecturer or employer and a motivation statement 

    Design Management (M.A.) - Creativity meets management expertise.

    Do you want to create, manage and lead design process-driven organisations? Design thinking is at the core of this programme. It is practised in interdisciplinary teams and applied to real time projects with the industry where design and management merge into innovation. 
     
    In creative professions, the demand for management knowledge and qualifications has risen sharply in recent years. The Master’s course in Design Management is aimed primarily at designers who wish to apply a comprehensive understanding of design to real tasks and processes.

    Ideal professionals distinguish themselves through broad expertise and in-­depth knowledge. Therefore, applicants from a completely different background are welcome, be they engineers, natural scientists or creative people. 
    During their studies, the Master’s degree students learn to adopt a management and design perspective – in short, they foster innovations through “Design Thinking”. Design Thinking describes a method used to create innovative solutions and solve complex problems. 

    Basically, it is all about creative but systematic processes. Key ingredients are optimism and empathy, experimentation and holistic thinking. Within interdisciplinary teams, Master’s degree students develop solutions to problems in the area of design, be they in relation to strategy design, service design or human­centred design.

    During your studies, you will learn to develop creative ideas, lead project teams to implement them and deliver innovative solutions that are intuitive and user-friendly. Beyond professional competencies, at the Macromedia University, we ensure that you develop the ability to work scientifically and apply proven methods to solve problems and design new solutions. 
    On top of comprehensive knowledge on various design topics, you will develop sound management and communication skills which enable you to succeed in dynamic interdisciplinary contexts.     Admission requirements and pre-semester.
    1. University/B.A. degree with at least 210 ECTS
    If you have only 180 ECTS, we offer you the option of obtaining the required extra 30 ECTS in a Pre-Semester course which you can complete in one of the following ways:
    • Attendance based pre-semester: This is an on-campus course that starts in the winter semester to ensure that you can join the master’s programme in the summer semester without any difficulty.
    • Online Pre-Semester: You can take the online pre-semester course in parallel with the first semester of your master’s course in the summer semester.
    2. English language proficiency
    TOEFL test with at least 72 out of 120 points or IELTS with at least 6.0 out of 9 is required. Equivalent qualifications may also be accepted, as applicable. For more information, see how to apply .
